The Modern Sanctum story began with the real life transformation of founder Rebecca Rose; having been through some personal trauma she was given a book by a friend ‘The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success’ by Deepak Chopra, which was her first step to understanding that you are your world, and everything is you.

The book ignited Rebecca’s healing journey; she began retraining her subconscious mind. She learned to harness the power of thought through positive affirmations, she had regular Homeopathy and Bio-Resonance sessions, used plant medicine to face her demons and re-harmonised her energetic fields with sound baths.

Rebecca connected the dots between how she felt and what she was feeding her body, she began taking nutrition seriously, overhauling her diet and incorporated both yoga and running into her daily routine. She enlisted a life-coach and began laying the foundations for her future, a future she truly desired.

Through reconnecting with herself, she realised how many of the people around her could also benefit from what she had learned, she saw how many others were battling their own demons or were lost in the fast pace of life, losing sight of their true selves, and so The Modern Sanctum was born. A full-circle transformation journey designed to guide you to reconnect with your natural human instincts, meet your inner-self and discover your true purpose.

The Modern Sanctum retreat is like no other with a the primary emphasis being on the soul and mind; a six day experience tailored to help you overcome anything holding you back and prepare you for your future.

Social Parrot were initially given the project of reconstructing the brand’s social media presence to accurately reflect the nature of the experience and connect on a deeper level with the target audience.

Initially, we focused on really narrowing down the audience, then refining the brand to resonate with them. We wanted to ensure the sumptuousness of the retreat was accurately reflected, and the differentiators between this experience compared with others on the market were clear.

We created a sophisticated brand identity, that would position The Modern Sanctum at the boutique end of the industry. Tweaking the original colour palette and typography, we were able to lay the foundations to appeal to a high-end audience. We took inspiration from some well-established luxury brands, particularly those that also appeal to a male audience, as Rebecca was keen to ensure the retreat felt open to men as well as women.

We’ve reflected this in our choice of a colour palette, opting for accents of dark eden green evoking feelings of growth and renewal. Pairing this with gold to add richness and warmth to the brand, an optimistic and positive colour, known for inspiring knowledge, spirituality and a deep understanding of the self and the soul. To establish a visual balance between the vibrancy of the accents we have used a neutral base with warm undertones.

We introduced hand drawn illustrations to perfectly encapsulate what brand is about, combining the core message, values and approach to engage the audience in an entirely different way.

We began collating and editing the images from the previous events to build the brand story, deepening the tones to align with the new brand identity. We curated a collection of emotive, yet elegant campaign imagery to generate intrigue and arouse desire, going against the grain of how retreats are usually marketed within the industry.

To boost brand awareness, we redefined the foundations of the brand across social media channels, remodelling the original aesthetic to stand out from industry competitors.

We redesigned the website, creating a space that was both bold and welcoming. The site was curated to guide users through the experience seamlessly, driving users to book or enquire to push direct online sales.

The journal section of the site is used to delve into the different rituals on offer at The Modern Sanctum, demystifying each experience and breaking down exactly what happens during them.

Everything in life comes down to beliefs and definitions. However, you choose to define a situation is the experience you will get out of it, live the journey! – Rebecca Rose
